The
Ramblers exist to facilitate,
for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that
walking outdoors can bring; and to promote respect for the life
of the countryside. We encourage walking; protect rights of way;
defend the beauty of the countryside; and have campaigned for
many years for freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country.
We are a democratic, voluntary organisation, registered as a charity
(no.1093577).
Walk
is the magazine of the Ramblers. Published quarterly, it covers
all aspects of walking, including news, features, gear reviews,
walks, awards and competitions. The magazine's website also has
a blog.
Walk Britain's

The Ramblers
Bookshop sells over a million titles, including a vast range
of walking books. Whats more, the Ramblers receive 50% of
the gross profit on each sale, of which we pass on half to our
customers. That means each book has a typical saving of 10% off
the cover price.
The Hampshire
Area of the Ramblers has over 5,000 members belonging to 15
Groups. Hampshire has nearly 3,000 miles of public rights of way,
byways, bridleways and footpaths. We help maintain them by survey,
reporting faults and doing practical work. The Hampshire
20's and 30's Walking Group offer younger members the chance
to meet like-minded walkers of a similar age.
Our neighbouring Ramblers groups are West
Berkshire, North
Hampshire Downs, Winchester,
Romsey,
South
Wiltshire and North-East
Wiltshire.
The
Ramblers' Group Walks Finder can help you to find a Ramblers
group walk that suits you. You can search their online database
and get details of thousands of group walks, all led by Ramblers
walk leaders.
With over 5,000 members and more than 50,000
items posted so far, the Ramblers'
Walking Forums allow you discuss issues on a wide range walking-related
topics, e.g. gear, destinations, websites, places to eat and drink,
and much more ... .
