We would like to invite you to walk regularly
with us in a beautiful part of Hampshire characterized by chalk
downland, sparkling rivers and idyllic villages. We offer a wide
variety of walks, in terms of location, distance, grade and type,
and with up to a dozen walks each month, you will always have
plenty to choose from.
Our
weekly Sunday walks typically range from 8 to 12 miles, whilst
our Saturday walks are mainly 5 to 8 miles. From May to August
we organize walks every Wednesday evening up to 5 miles in length.
We meet in Andover so that we
can car share to the start of the walk and give members without
cars a lift. This enables us to take as few cars as possible.
As well as organizing walks
every week in Hampshire and our neighbouring counties, we
arrange weekend and short breaks to more distant parts such as
Exmoor, Dartmoor, the Brecon Beacons, the Peak District and the
Lake District.
The
Andover Ramblers have enjoyed an average annual
growth in membership of over 2.5% during the last 6 years. We
extend a warm welcome to all new walkers, visitors and guests.
Why not try us for a few weeks without any commitment. If you
like what you see, then you are more than welcome to join us.
The Ramblers annual membership fee
amounts to less than 60p per week. As well as helping to protect
the natural beauty of the British countryside, you will also be
part of a nationwide walking club.
The Ramblers
exist to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment
and discovery that walking outdoors can bring; and to promote
respect for the life of the countryside. We encourage walking;
protect rights of way; defend the beauty of the countryside; and
have campaigned for many years for freedom to roam over uncultivated,
open country.
